We have had a wonderful and eventful week since I last posted. On Thursday Colton officially turned 4. We spent the day here at home and just played and took it easy. On Saturday we had planned to spend the day together and attend the Omaha Fall festival, but as it turned out Jacob and Colton needed some daddy and son time and the girls and I needed some mommy and girls time. So Colton and his daddy went to town and did whatever boys do and the girls and I attended the Fall Fest. It was our first outing with out a stroller and I could not have asked for it to go more smoothly. We had nachos, and the played a little game and Claire won a bouncy ball and Caleigh won a little stuffed dog. It is amazing that at that age, they had no clue that one of them had a better prize than the other. Jacob's dad won a black powder gun from the Fall Fest. so the boys (Mr. Danny, Jacob, Colton and Cody) went out to Uncle Cody's and shot the new toy and rode 4-wheelers while the girls and I went ahead to Brody's 2nd Birthday party at their house. Jacob and Colton then joined us and afterwards we all met back up at our house for a movie and some quiet time. I am so truly blessed that I have such a great family. This weekend will be another eventful one with Halloween and Jacob's birthday coming up.

I have Served My Country...

I just hope that I have served it well. So today, we wrapped up the trial that I was chosen to be on the Jury for. It was a huge corporation against a family not far from here (Naples). I guess I am glad of the decision that we made, I had to be convinced by listening to the other jurors reasoning, but I held my ground along with one other poor soul for 4 hours against the others. It came down to, was the boy who was injured and eventually passed away from complications caused by his severe burns to blame, or was the gas container in which he was using at fault. The Plaintiffs case was VERY convincing, but the other jurors and eventually myself and the one other poor soul I mentioned eventually decided that we had to go with what we had seen or heard and not necesarily what we felt. It stinks when your head and your heart do not agree.

On a MUCH lighter note, we celebrated Colton's 4th birthday Saturday evening here at our house. The bash kicked off just after 5 p.m. and was all fun and food and games from then untill we wrapped up around 9 (yes our parties are long, but they are for the entire family and the families of all our guest). To begin the evening, Mr. Lloyd Heard from here in Naples brought his 4-wheeler train (the cars are made from old 55 gal drums) and took us for 2 nice long rides around our neighborhood. The kids, moms and even grandmas seemed to really enjoy there turns and the dads and grandpa's and uncles must have gotten a kick out of watching us too. After the train rides were over the activities migrated back to our house and back yard for some good old hot dogs and chips. While we were eating the kids enjoyed playing in the yard and the adults had some relaxing down time while catching up with old friends. After everyone ate we came inside for Colton to open gifts. Our children are so blessed, I hope that I can do an adequate job as a parent to teach them that in their young lives. And as if that weren't enough to fill one evening, we then sang "Happy Birthday" to the special boy and had cake and icecream.

I appologize if ever I just ramble on and on, but I love my family so much and my life would not be the same without any of them.

Thank you for joining our wild and crazy ride through this journey we all call life. Maybe some of the craziness has subsided for a little while, but I will let you all know.

Untill next time,

Ashleigh

Jury Duty Sucks

I was recently summoned and actually had to attend my first Jury Duty in Federal court. And as luck would have it I got chosen to serve.
So today was the first day, and I don't remember ever having to TRY so hard to pay attention to what was being said. But I had a really hard time with that today. Hopefully as things progress it will become more interesting to me and I will not have to work so hard to be attentive as I should. So, I guess, at 25 I am doing my do as an American Citizen.

In addition to having court today through sometime next week, Monday I realized that Colton's birthday party is THIS Saturday and that it is a dress up halloween party and none of our children had costumes. So Monday afternoon the girls and I went to WalMart and bought the remaining items needed to finish there costumes. If I may say so myself they are adorable. All three will be pirates and hopefully I will get some good pictures and figure out how to upload them soon. Untill next time, God Bless.

Our First Family Blog

So, after reading blogs of several friends and aquaitences, I have decided to give it a shot for myself. Many of you know I am Ashleigh Wilson. I am married to Jacob and we have 3 gorgeous (sorry I am a tad partial) kids. A little about all of us.
Myself: I am 25 years old and I am a stay at home Mommy. I love this job more than anything I have ever done. However, about a year ago, I began to want to do something else. I still wanted to stay home, but I wanted to get out also. i was very fortunated in that my uncle bought a restraunt, so now I work there 5-10 hours a week and I still get to raise my kids. I also LOVE decorating cakes and hopefully some day when the kids are a little older and in school, I can do this full time.
Jacob: Works for T&N Railroad in Lonestar, Texas and is a Engineer/Conductor and soon will become a yard supervisor. I am so proud of him and what he does for all of us. He is truly our sons best friend, and they love spending time with one another.
Colton: will celebate his 4th birthday this Saturday (his actual birthday is the 23rd). He has chosen a Monster/Halloween theme and the kids will dress up and there will be a cake, not sure what it will be yet but we'll post some pictures. He has also recently learned to ride his bicycle without training wheels and got his own dog named Jackson (english bulldog/beagle).
Caleigh and Claire: are a little over 2. They are the funniest little girls I have ever seen and just full of life and joy. They love to "wing" (swing) and play together, it doesn't seem to matter just as long as they are together.

This is just a little about us, I hope to be able to let you all know more, and to let you into our world through blogging.
