Its been a while.....

A LONG while! I can't believe, well yes I can...that it has been nearly 5 months since I have posted a blog. So here is a brief, very brief recap of the last few months.

July- My babie girls Caleigh Paige and Claire Brooke celebrated there 3rd birthday on July 3rd. We had a princess birthday party and the girls had a blast. It was low key for us anyway, but still a very enjoyable day for the girls!! They wanted purple bicycles and got some very cute purple princess bikes!!! Love em' but still trying to figure them out to this day.

August- Baby Maggie Gean Wilson joined our family on August 5th!!! Maggie is super cute and the kids just can't get enough of her. She is double special to me, since she is my first neice (her daddy Cody and Jacob are brothers) and my second cousin (her mama Marci is my 1st cousin). And NO we aren't form Arkansas!!!

Sepetember- Colton started school!!!! We didn't enroll him before school, we thought I ought to be able to get him ready for kindergarten, but the more I heard from parents of kids in the pre-k program, the more I was afraid he might be behind starting kindergarten. So the middle of September we talked about it and talked to him about it, and he, Jacob and I agreed that we would sign him up. He LOVES it. Just this past week he has decided that I don't have to walk him into school anymore like I have up until now.

Also in Sept. my daddy turned the big 5-0!!! He had a birthday party at his house, after 20 something years he has finally got the shack he has wanted for a pool house and the party was there around the pool. A large time was had by all!!

October- It rained, and rained and rained some more....thats about all we did last month was watch it rain.

November- Jacob celebrated #28 on the 1st and we had a nice uneventful day as a family. This past Thursday he, his daddy, brother, friend Dusty, and Roger headed to Alpine, Texas to go quail hunting. I will have to make a whole other post about their trip. They will be home sometime tomorrow and I will definately have some pics to share.

The kids and I headed to Cass County to my mom and dads deer lease to spend the afternoon today, and had a very enjoyable time. I took Colton for a short ride on the 4-wheeler to the pond and we found some flat bottom boats and paddles, so I talked him into a little ride...not too sure he really enjoyed that. Then I took the girls for the same little adventure. Claire loved it!! Caleigh held on to Claires skirt the hold time and kept saying, "Claire, hold on!" They are so sweet and so different it amazes me. Claire was not ready to get out of the boat and Caleigh said, "This not fun for me, Mommy". We went back to camp and Colton and I shot his .410 a couple of times then he and Poppy road down to the deer stand to check things out then walked to another one. My little man is getting ready now to spend the night there with them, and go hunting bright and early in the morning. He has all his gear layed out and ready!!!

Sorry this is so long, and there are no pictures. I keep thinking I will try to do better, and its not that I don't have time or can't make it, I just haven't done well keeping up.

FunFilled Saturday with Daddy

The kids and I had planned for a FULL day of birthday parties (3 to be exact) on Saturday the 20th. But Jacob decided to take off from real work on Friday to mow his yards he normally does on the weekend so that he could have a day off and go fishing at Beavers Bend. The closer it got to time for him to go, the more I wanted to go. I don't really care for the fishing part, but it just sounded like fun to get out for a little bit. So he left out before 9 and I finished up my 4th and final cake for the weekend. The kids and I decided to go to one of the parties the earliest one, and headed up to Oklahoma after lunch.

We drove up and while they watched Garfield, I listened and enjoyed the scenery on the way. When we got to Idabel there was a drive through Subway so we stopped and got sandwhiches and met Jacob at the WalMart there. We headed to the park and finally found an empty campsite with a picnic table and ate our sandwhiches and changed into our swimsuits. We headed to the swimming area and swam in the river as the kids say, then rented padel boats (which by the way are NOT fun to me) but the kids loved it. Colton wanted to see where daddy had caught his fish so we went on a baby hike with the babies along the river before heading out to ride goKarts. I don't think I have ever had so much fun in one day with my whole family. We then headed home and stopped in Idabel at a yummy mexican restraunt for supper and then drove on home.

Next time we are going to plan ahead and leave out earlier and spend the WHOLE day soaking up the sun around the river. We hope to have a camper some day sooner than later hopefully and maybe have a few weekends like this.
Since my last post.....
On April 3, one of my very best friends Melissa had two handsome boys....Camden Marshall and Easton Lee. They are 2 of the sweetest babies I have ever known, and she may very well be one of the greatest mommies out there. Congrats Aunt Issa!!!!

April 17, Jacob and I celebrated our 5th anniversary. His mama and daddy kept the kids for us while went out by ourselves. We went to the mall in Longview and out to eat at Papacitas. I enjoyed my time with him, but while we were gone, my mom called him and they had put my grandma on a ventilator (life support). I really tried to have fun, but all I could think about was her, so after dinner we headed back to MP to go to the hospital to be with my mom, grandpa and unlce for a little bit.

April the 18th was my 26th birthday, and to be honest, it sucked. I woke up at 8 to a phone call and they told me they had given my grandma a 20% chance of survival. I was heartbroken and spent the whole day and night at the hospital. She made it through, and for 4 weeks was at TRMC in Mt. Pleasant.

Sometime, the end of April or early May, my other best friend Amy (who happens to be Melissa's twin sis) called me and told me to get ready, because I am going to be an Auntie again late December or early January (now its confirmed it will be early January).

Thats about all I can remember, which proves to me, maybe I should do this more often.

Update

It has been a couple of weeks and just wanted to let everyone know that we are still here:).

Colton has now had 4 t-ball games, and they continue to be just as exciting as the first one was. The girls love to go and watch Baseball and even have there own shirts that NawNaw made for them to sorta match Bubba's. Jacob is not technically a coach, but has ended up helping with nearly every practice and game in the outfield and catching while our team bats. He made the comment the other night, that he had caught the entire time he played ball when he was younger and had never been hit by the batter. After his first t-ball game catching for Colton's team, he was hit, by none other that our Madi!! I thought this was quite funny, because to be honest she is a little rounder, and it was so fitting that it was her that hit him.

In other exciting news for me at least, 3 of my 7 expecting mama's (8 babies between them) have delivered their babies. Robin had a healthy little boy named Joshua Feb. 13, KeLe had baby Libby on March 31, and Tiffany's baby Adilene (who took her sweet time 24+ hours) was born on April 1!!! I am so happy for all my dear friends and look forward in the next week to welcome 4 more sweeties (one being a set of twin boys....I am so excited).

As soon as I get pictures of the little ones, I will try to upload them all.

Please keep the family of Judy Hammonds in your thoughts and prayers, after what they thought would be a full recovery, Judy has had a huge setback and was taken off of life support yesterday evening (April 1). She is a strong lady and is holding on as we speak. Only our Lord knows what is in store for her and her family, but I pray for peace and comfort for all of them in this time of need.

I am still getting the hang of this blogging thing, so I appologize for the goofy placing of my pictures today. Also, for anyone who likes to read about us, I am so sorry for taking so long to make an update.

<--The picture to the left is Cotlon at practice. If you look closely you will notice that not only does he have his batting helmet on, he also has his catching glove. Poor kid, he thinks he has to wear all of his gear all of the time.
On Monday night Colton played his first real game, we counted it down for about 3 days and when he woke up that morning he looked at me and said, "Mama, today I get to play real Baseball". However a little while later when I told him the name of the team we would be playing was the Green monsters, he did not want to play.
He said, " Mama, I don't want to play tonight" I asked him why and he said, "Mama, you know I am afraid of green monsters". It took just a litte persuasion to convince him that they would be little people like him, and he was fine when he saw the other team running around in ther green t-shirts.

<--Here is the littel man running into home after one of his at bats at the first game. I am surprised he is still standing up, usually he thinks he needs to slide into home.
<-- The Girls and Colton dressed and all ready for his second game last night. I am a loser and they have to match big brothers ball team (notice the grey and red). They are getting better at posing together, maybe sometime in the near future we can get a real picture of the 3 of the made.

<--Here is a closeup of Colton coming into 3rd.
Notice the cheesy grin, thats how he looks during
the whole game. He just can't contain his joy!!!

<--One final at bat!!!! Bless his heart, he swings so hard
he spins a full circle before he is able to run the bases

So far Tee Ball has been a great experience for our entire family. All the grandparents were able to make it to our first game and K'ma, NawNaw and Uncle Cody were there last night to cheer Colton on. We are so blessed to be able to do things like this with our kids and I am so thankful for and cherish every moment.

Colton's T-Ball Practice

Tonight we had our first t-ball practice, and I believe Colton had a blast. I kind of thought he was a little standoffish, but I am sure that will change soon when he gets to know a few more of the kids. However our Madi (she's not technically ours, but she stayed with us all summer while her mama and daddy worked) is on his team, so he does have a buddy and that will probably be good for both of them. I am feeling too lazy to go find my camera right now, I got a couple of pictures of him, but I will have to post them tomorrow or maybe Sunday. Just wanted to let everyone know that he did great and we can't wait to share more.

The Google Game

The object is...well I am not sure that there is an object but this is how it goes. Go to Google and type in your name "needs." Example: Ashleigh "needs" and use the top ten results that come up. So, lets see how this goes for me.

Google says, Ashleigh "needs"...
1) Ashleigh needs rogaine. (I have plenty of hair thanks)
2) Ashleigh needs to watch where she's going, clumsy ass. (Not the words I would have used, but so true)
3) Ashleigh needs to stop being a maurder and stop complaing evertime something happens with all of us leaving her out.(hey, I don't complain, I have gotten used to it)
4) Ashleigh needs a new saddle. (yes, but I am afraid of the horse, so there is not need in getting that saddle)
5) Ashleigh needs to reach level four before she can enter those competitions.
6) Ashleigh needs to break away.
7) Ashleigh needs a break! (this one I can agree on)
8) Ashleigh needs an assistant to help her plan the mixer between Omega Chi and ZBZ so Omega Chi pledge Calvin volunteers.
9) Ashleigh needs to turn 1 more or gain 21 more Slayer points to reach the next.
10) Ashleigh needs to pick up lunch tickets. (as long as it taste good and I don't have to cook, I'm there)

Well, this game was not so fun for me. I had thought about copying Christy and doing Jacob's too, but he would probably get some good things and mine aren't so hot.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Our Wednesday

As I mentioned in my previous post, we signed Colton up to play TeeBall this year. Jacob has been telling me that I needed to take him to town and get the things that he did not have so that he would be ready when it came time to practice. He had to work, so Caleigh and Claire went to spend some time with NawNaw and Poppy, and Colton and I went to walmart. He was not excited about going to walmart, untill he fully understood why we were there (which wasn't untill we actually got to the baseball stuff). So this is what he has looked like every since then. And I mean litterally. He changed into his new Baseball clothes in the wal mart parking lot. And we immediately had to go show K'ma and Hawdaddy. And as soon as he woke up this morning he put them back on.
He had the Tee and Bat, but he picked out a new glove, batting gloves, a helmet and we got him a pair of pants and ofcourse we had to have a bag to put it all in. I am sure that not all of this gear is required for TeeBall, but he is my baby, and this is our first big thing for him to do.
After our morning of playing ball in the back yard and when daddy left to go to work, we went to NawNaw and Poppys to ride fourwheelers and play for awhile. I have known for a long time that there was an old cemetary in the woods behind there house, but I have never been back there. The new owners of the property are clearing fences and rebuilding them soon, so while I had the chacne to go there on fourwheeler instead of foot, we took it. Here are some markers that we found. A few were still readable but most were just rocks placed every so many feet or so.

This one we think may have been a young soldier possibly because of the inscripture and the age. He was not quite 18 years old.

It was very neat to see, and I was ok, untill everyone else had gone back over to the fourwheelers and I got an eery feeling inside. Maybe it was coinsindence I don't know. I counted about 22 or 23 rocks that were placed in this one area, so I am guessing that there aren't more than 30 graves there.
It saddened me however, that these people were burried there in the middle of nowhere in Cookville, and no one even really knows that they are there. I guess that will eventually happen to all of us. Someday there will not be anybody left here that was here when we were.
On our way back to the house Colton and I stopped and played in the creek for a few minutes. Here he is. Still in his ball clothes and batting helmit. Silly little boy.

And our last adventure of the day..... Little man has been asking us for quite some time if he could campout, so I found this tent and mama and daddy's and brought it home and sat it up in the living room for him and the girls. This first picture is after we made ther palletts and they even have there portable dvd player in there to watch Open Season 2 or Polorbears as it is know at our house (yes I realize he is a brown bear, but try convincing a very hardheaded little boy that he is wrong).

The last picture for tonights post is while they were watching the movie for the first time tonight and having there pizza pic nic in the tent.

I hope everyone has a good evening. Untill next time.

Its just another Monday

It has been a couple of days so I thought I would just say Hi to everyone (if anyone actually reads this). Nothing big or exciting to report from The Wilson's.

The kids and I have been visiting The Naples Church of Christ here in Naples and are really enjoying it. If you do not have a church home, and live in the area, it is definatly worth trying out. There seem to be 100 kids (not really) but ALOT of kids from itty bitty to school age, and there is something for all of them (as young as 2 years old go to a class). There are also several young couples and just overall everyone seems so nice and happy to see us.

Colton, the Girls and I went on the 14th to sign him up for his first year of T-Ball, and tonight our coach called us (technically his wife, but same difference I suppose), and I am so very excited about the team that he is on. We are still kinda new in the area, or I feel that way anyway, and it doesn't seem like we know that many people, but we are very lucky to be on a team with several little people that we do know. Good Luck Colton, he has his first practice this Friday.

I hope that everyone has a great week, and Thank God for something good that is happening in your life. I know that times are hard, and are likely to get harder, but everyone has something to be proud of and God deserves all the glory.

Caleigh and Claire have a rather large bedroom and lucky for them I guess since they have to share. I have not been able to find just what I wanted for the room in store or online, so after months of looking and here and there and everywhere between, I decided to tear down an old headboard and make my own wall hangings for my girls.
Here is part of the headboard befor Ashleigh got a hold of it.

And in the process...
Now this is a picture of there bedroom just a few hours ago. Cute, but bare.

This is what there room looks like now.

These are the peices from the headboard, the picture does not do them justice. I printed some pictures from the internet of victorian lady sillouettes and then traced them so that is what it is in actuallity.

Thanks for letting me share with you all, hope everyone has a great evening.
Real quick, Please keep my very special friend Mrs. Judy Hammonds in your prayers, she has a very rare, serious infection in her body, and needs all the prayers that we can offer. She is showing signs of improvement, but has a long hard road ahead of her in the coming days.

10 minute makeover + a couple of hours

So, I read Meredith's blog about how she loves to decorate for each season/holiday and she used things she already had around the house to give it a 10 minute makeover and fresh springy atmosphere. Well it took me longer than 10 minutes and actually it is still not completed, but here is what I have done.

This is Jacob's and my bedroom. It is very large and the only room in the house that I/we have not done anything too. This is what it looked like before its little makeover. As soon as you walked in you saw the huge window/sliding glass door that goes out to his workout room. And it is so long and skinny it needed something (pretty) to draw your attention.

This is what you now see when you enter our room. The curtains are from downstairs, and the valance is made out of a sheet that matches our bedding that we do not use. And the arangement is recycled from our front living room and redone to give it more size and shape.

All I need to do now is find a few things to hang, and maybe a big comfy chair or ottoman and my big empty feeling room will be warm and cozy feeling. As soon as I finish the new curtains for the living room I will share that with you as well. Have a great and blessed day.

We are Thankful

I have learned to be thankful more than just at Thanksgiving. We have a beautiful, happy, healthy family, and I think I have been taking that for granted. I have come to the conclusion that I am expexting a little too much out of my kids, and have given it a week of relaxing when it comes to handling them. They couldn't have acted better for me. They have earned a treat (that sounds like they are animals) every day this week, and I am so happy that it is working in all of our favors.

Jacob is still working for USSteel, so please keep us in your prayers, there are not a lot of people who still work for them from what I understand. We are so gratefull, but know that whatever God has planned for us is what will happen in the end.

Tomorrow will be a big day for the lil man. We are registering him for his first year to play t-ball. I am so excited and I really think he is too. I just hope he really likes it. He has wanted to play every since he was big enough to know that my cousin Seth was playing. I think I may be a little sad too though. I have looked forward to the day that he was old enough to participate in activites such as baseball, but now that the time is here, I don't want him to be big enough, that means he is getting big. But I have to except this and I will.

Caleigh and Claire are great. Their vocabularies are really starting to bud, and they are both actually starting to speak in phrases (almost sentences). No one can understand them but me, but it is a milestone I have recognized lately and hopefully someday soon, others can pick up on what they are trying to say.

I hope everyone has a Happy Valentines Day and is able to spend it with the one that they love.

Been a WHILE

So sorry it has been so long since I posted. My old computer was having issues with allowing me to do the things that I wanted to do. No worry's there, I melted it on my couch last weekend, so now I have a new one that lets me do what I want when I want. I don't really have anything exciting to talk about, I really just wanted to say hi to anyone that might ocaisonally come by to check out the Wilson clan.

However I must just mention, that I have been busy making some really cute curtains for my french doors, and if I ever figure out how to add pics and things I will start doing that. I love making things for my house myself, if gives me satisfaction knowing that "I did that" especially when others like what I have done.

Enough for now. Hopefully it won't be 3 months before my next update.
